Measured and thoughtful, with clean separation between narrator voice and character dialogue — you always know who's talking, even when one of the speakers is a sentient rock. Adam excels at non-human perspectives. His dungeon core Cal sounds genuinely alien while staying weirdly likable, which is a harder trick than it sounds. He also handles Dakota Krout's pun-heavy humor with a perfectly straight face, and the deadpan makes the groaners land better. Not the flashiest style in the genre, but the control is what impresses.

Vikas Adam is a seasoned narrator with well over a hundred titles spanning fantasy, sci-fi, and literary fiction, and that broader range shows in his LitRPG work. In our corner of the genre he's the voice of Dakota Krout's universes: The Divine Dungeon, told largely from the perspective of a newborn dungeon heart, and The Completionist Chronicles, fourteen books of ritual magic and relentless dad jokes. Dungeon Born is still the performance I point people to. Voicing Cal — a rock learning how to think — could easily have been a gimmick, but Adam gives him an actual arc from curious pebble to something much scarier. That measured delivery is a big part of why dungeon core stories work in audio at all.
