How much is an Audible credit worth?+
On the standard US Premium Plus plan you pay $14.95/month for one credit, and one credit buys any audiobook regardless of its sticker price or length. That's why long books are the play — a 40-hour epic works out to about $0.37 per hour, while a 6-hour novella costs you $2.49 per hour for the exact same credit.
What should I spend Audible credits on?+
Long books you'll actually finish. LitRPG is one of the best genres for credit value — series entries regularly run 20 to 40+ hours. Books under roughly 8 hours are usually cheaper to buy outright during sales, so save your credits for the doorstoppers.
Do Audible credits expire?+
It depends on how you got them. In the US, credits generally expire 12 months after issue or when you cancel. Credits issued through the App Store or Google Play are the exception: they don't expire. Extra credits bought in those apps also stay in your account after cancellation. I'd check the credit summary in your Audible account before spending credits just to beat a deadline.
